Best hostel I have ever been to so far, and very well located. They organize activities almost every day, so there’s always an opportunity to meet new people. During my stay, everyone was very friendly, including the staff. The bathrooms, showers, and kitchen were cleaned frequently, and the fact that the beds have curtains was great for maintaining privacy. Definitely would stay here again!! :)

Loved staying in this hostel! Great location and quite a few social activities going on weekly. There's a great atmosphere and staff are super friendly. Beds are comfortable and it's pretty clean overall. Free breakfast too! The only downside is that it stays very noisy throughout the day and for a big part of the night. It's true that with earplugs in and the room's door closed you can't hear much, but it was surprisingly noisy every day.

I decided to stay at this hostel because I wanted a quiet place to get over my jetlag and it was the best decision ever! While it is not directly downtown, it was nice to be in a rather calm neighbourhood and very close (10mins) to the Botanical garden and Bay. Attractions like the Opera house and downtown were still in walkable distance (15-30mins) and there is also a bus stop close. The 4-bed dorm I stayed in was clean, spaceous, had lockable storage spaces and carpet floor, which made it comfortable. The kitchen was very clean and there were many fridges. Downsides may be that there is no aircondition, only a cieling fan but you can open the window. It was fine at 20-25° but it may not be if it's hotter. The blankets were warm though, which could be good in winter. The free breakfast is nice, but there's only toast and cereal, not even fruit or anything, so you'd have to buy & cook that yourself. Regarding noise, I would recommend earplugs. There is a loud street nearby and the cieling fan can be a bit annoying too. However, I slept really well regardless. If you're looking for a simple, clean and social as well as quiet Hostel, I would highly recommend the Pacific House Hostel!!

Pacific House was my first time staying in a hostel. I came down for the Coldplay concert and cancelled my stay at another hotel in Sydney Olympic Park to stay here instead. The location of this hostel is perfect. The whole of Sydney is really right at your doorstep with the Opera House, Circular Quay, Hyde Park and St James train station being no more than a ten minute walk away. The hostel is a pleasant older style building with great views of the city. The staff are helpful and friendly. They run social events every night and I made several new friends in my 2 night stay. I will stay here every time I come to Sydney, and can’t wait for my next adventure with Pacific House.

Room spacially was good however no air conditioning despite saying online that there is. Shared spaces cleaned everyday however kitchen was full of flies as the bins are right near where the food is prepared which is very off putting. Fighting for fridge space but you are given fridge bags to store food. They have food lockers however only the really high up ones are usually free which is not ideal for shorter people. WiFi did not work for about half the time we were there but when it did work it worked well. Location is good for getting to circular key/botantical gardens/ westfields however getting out to the beaches was harder as transport is less frequent, staying closer to central station would be much better. Laundry facilities were good.
