a month agoUnfortunately, the room was only a sunroom with glass doors. Being directly next to the common area, you could hear everything. Someone decided to cook a full meal after midnight very loudly and with the traffic, I could not sleep. The place is left open and unlocked during the night. Not safe for females.

a year agoI honestly don't understand all the bad reviews. I am a solo female traveller and I have stayed in so many hostels over the past years and this was definitely one of the good ones. Of course it depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a Party-Hostel or a big hostel with lots of people in it, where you are just a number, go somewhere else. Mango Hostel is tiny, only has space for 8-10 people and feels more like a shared house - absolutely loved it! It's got super cute interior, the owner is very chatty and will give you lots of recommendations that are off the beaten track. Specifically if you're into sailing, he can give you lots of recommendations. Yes, you don't have lockers here and the front door is unlocked - but I have not felt unsafe even for a second. And just take your valuables with you when you go out for the day if you really don't wanna leave them in the hostel. Yes, the walls are very thin and you can hear everything from the other rooms, but just wear earplugs at night and you're fine. The kitchen is well equipped, the shower is nice and warm, the bed was comfy (yes, mattress is a bit thin, but I guess it depends on your comfort feeling, I didn't mind it). Would definitely stay again.

a year agoThis is the worst hostel I've ever been too. For starters, the owner came to give me my room and he told me he didn't want to talk to me because I didn't have a good energy. Then my room's door was giving in the common area and the door is not a real door like it is made of tempered glass (see picture). So you can hear everything coming from the common area and if the light is on there it is as if it were on in your own room. As I wanted to sleep I asked a guest in the common area if it was good to shut the lights down and he refused because he considered he could do whatever in the common area even if it bothers other guest. Also, the door of the room does not close at all. I couldn't get sleep in there, some people were weird people and the room terrible, if you can, avoid at any cost!
