a week agoRoom was what it was, kinda expected for the price and quality of hotel. Good location, walking distance from top attractions. Hotel lacked aura but Mythbusters on TV added a couple points. “People” were in the kitchen until 5AM using the microwave and hotel was quite noisy. Overall pleasant stay though. The cleaner threatened to assault my friend and spray him with a cleaning product

3 weeks agoI was very disappointed in this hotel from the moment I called in for the door code. The person in the phone was very dismissive when I said I hadn’t gotten the email with the code and checkin instructions. He just kept saying well I sent it. The rooms are incredibly small. In my single I don’t even have a bedside table or plug. I ended up having to use my 10 foot phone charger on top of my suitcase. Also my curtains were not blackout so I had all the light from the alley in my room. Sounds could be heard all over this hotel. I think I only got 1-2 hours of sleep due to the noise and the bed. The bed is extremely uncomfortable and would not recommend for anyone with back issues as my back woke me up in pain due to the firmness of the bed. Also the sheets were very rough so that was another issue. I also kept bouncing between hot and cold. At least they had a heater in the room if I needed it but there was no fan or anything else to help with cooling. Also there is a smell through out the hotel. I’m not quite sure what it is but I know part of it smells like mold. As someone with asthma I kept having breathing issues in this hotel. There was peeling paint and chips on the walls. Clearly needs a paint job. When I went to the restroom(shared) I saw at least 6 spiders and had overheard one guest saying there were cockroaches in the men’s restrooms. Was also unaware on how to check out also as I never received the above mentioned email. WIFI and TV in general were slow and laggy. I was supposed to stay 4 nights but left after 1 and went to the Holiday Inn down the road. As a solo backpacker I might book again but since this trip was supposed to be my weekend getaway from school it did not live up to expectations and my breathing issues kept getting worse. So I left and got out of the situation while I could still breathe. Only good this is the location to everything.

2 months agoI arrived late and manager Adrian was totally hospitable. I ride a heavy e-Bike and with my room three floors up, Adrain offered to store the bike in his office overnight. Thanks Adrian. Everything there was very pleasant, clean as expected. The location is outstanding with a 20minute walk to the Art Gallery. Great clean restaurants just around the corner as is Woolies, Coles, ATM machines and the train station. I rode to Wollongong the next day and returned a couple days later for another two night stay. Of course my room was on the smaller side, but totally adequate. Bathrooms were down the hall, again on the smaller side, but useable. Thanks Adrian for all your information and advice and friendly conversation. I'll be back

2 months ago88$ to stay here is ridiculous. Although the rooms are comfy clean and small the toliet was disgusting. The staff didint flush it and I found hair in the shower and I called the staff to tell them and they said it was probably you and they came to my room and they looked and said ‘sorry ma’am we will clean it later’ and left and he never did

8 months agoNot very good, unfortunately. The staff were helpful, carried our bags up and down the three flights of stairs, which was very kind of them. The room was alright, comfortable enough beds, but few other amenities. The curtains and blinds were near blackout, which was nice. There were a fair few cobwebs and spiders. The sink was not large enough to fill a bottle from, or to properly wash your face in, which became very frustrating. Very good location proximity wise, just round the corner from the train station, though I wouldn't feel comfortable walking around alone at night. That's our fault for not doing better research on the area. Didn't feel totally safe in the hotel, and I wouldn't recommend it for a solo female traveller. Still, comfortable enough for a night or two.
