2 months agoWonderful Family Stay at Kings Canyon Resort We recently stayed as a family at Kings Canyon Resort, in tents 1 and 2, and were very pleased with our experience. The tents are of high quality, offering everyone exceptional comfort while being in harmony with the surrounding nature. The interior is beautifully decorated, blending elegance with local touches, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The bedding is comfortable for everyone, and the good view of the desert landscape is a real plus. Together, we enjoyed the sunrise from the terrace—an excellent moment for the whole family. The teenagers also appreciated the tennis court. Although it's a bit worn, they still enjoyed playing early in the morning. The receptionist was particularly friendly and always ready to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this accommodation for a unique family experience at Kings Canyon.

4 weeks agoIt is easy to see that Kings Canyon Resort enjoys a monopoly when it comes to providing accommodation in the local area. The location is what sells the property, definitely not the service. The rooms are quite nice, I would rate them around a 3-4 star which comfortable beds and good ac. When we visited the restaurant was closed as off season and only the bar and grill was open serving standard but unimaginative food. Our main disappointment was with reception. The service was appalling and the Little Robot on the front desk was well programmed but missing the mark in delivering any form of customer service. We arrived around midday and went to reception to check when our rooms would be ready. Little Robot told us that "check in was guaranteed for 3pm". A line he would continue to repeat forever more. When asked if he wouldn't mind checking with housekeeping as to when our rooms would be ready, he refused and continued to repeat the line that "rooms are guaranteed at 3pm". Now you and I know that housekeeping is not staffed by magic fairies and rooms are not magically cleaned at 2.59pm. Some are available hours earlier and others are cleaned after the magical 3pm. Having an idea on when our rooms would be ready would have given us a handy idea on when to come back and allowed for much clearer planning of the day. We went for lunch and called Little Robot after we had eaten at only to be told that "check in is guaranteed at 3pm" again and again. Little Robot continued to refuse to do the most simple thing which was to pick up the phone and contact housekeeping and ask when a room would be available. We went for a walk into the canyon and came back and again called Little Robot. By this time I was amazed at how the robot was creating work for himself dealing with us again and again and again. He hadn't quite worked out time management and dealing with a customer once to ensure they are happy and on their way, he was creating added burden for himself with us coming back to him again and again. Eventually got into our rooms and they were quite nice but nothing special. Kids enjoyed the pool which was freezing cold but clean. Needs a little more shade to make it safe from the sun. Had dinner at the bar and grill which was nice but an unimaginative menu. Food was served quick and came well cooked with fresh ingredients. Used the petrol station for snacks and had a great conversation with the attendant there who mentioned it was off season and very quiet. I would say avoid this place but the sad reality is their is nowhere else to stay in the local area.

2 months agoInitially camped here in our camper van for 2 nights but enjoyed our time here so much we extended for an extra night. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Amenity blocks are well maintained. Camp kitchens, laundry etc available. Sunset drinks bar overlooks the range and the accompanying live music adds to the atmosphere. We ate at the on-site restaurant every night because the meals were tasty and worth coming back for. Overall, we would highly recommend this establishment and would stay here again on any return visits.

3 months agoWe camped on a powered site near the amenities. The amenities were clean with hot showers. We used the washing machine and were able to hang clothes on the line. The servo shop was great and provided fresh bread and frozen meat sourced from a butcher. Dinner and drinks at the pub were enjoyed. Their t-shirts look fantastic and are a bargain. We all enjoyed our stay.

3 months agoFantastic stay. We were in our caravan and treated ourselves to the Under a Desert Moon dinner at the resort. It was a highlight of our trip and one of our top dining experiences we’ve had. I loved the use of native proteins and flavours, it was unique. Seeing dingos running through the caravan park was also pretty cool, they didn’t pay attention to anyone and just went about their way. The park itself lacks a bit of character, probably being to its fairly new fit out, just felt like it lacked in details of gardens and privacy, felt like a big car park. Pub was good, offering good food and happy hour. Would love to come back.
