4 weeks agoWe had a fantastic visit to Discovery Park in Townsville, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the friendly and welcoming staff made us feel welcomed. Their enthusiasm and helpfulness truly set the tone for our day. The highlight for our kids was definitely the swimming pool and slides! The kids couldn't get enough of the fun water features, and it was wonderful to see them laughing and splashing around. The pools were well maintained and offered the perfect mix of relaxation and excitement. We appreciated the family-friendly environment, with plenty of shaded areas and seating for parents to relax while keeping an eye on the little ones. The park also had various other activities and amenities that kept everyone entertained throughout the day. Overall, our experience at Discovery Park Townsville was memorable and enjoyable. It’s a perfect destination for families looking for a fun day out. We can't wait to return for another adventure!

2 weeks agoWe have been travelling around Australia for the last 2 months and on the whole so far all caravan parks we have stayed at have been bloody great UNTIL we got to Discovery Park Wulguru Townsville. This park was absolutely disgusting and dirty from the start with the bins full of maggots and overflowing everywhere, lawns not mowed and worst of all days in a row toilets both male & female not clean with no toilet paper or seats broken, then out the front of the toilets dirty linen spilling onto the road with more garbage spilling out of bins for days. We went to have a bbq and although it’s the camper’s responsibility to keep them clean they were absolutely putrid. I know it’s been raining but that’s no excuse for filth… Even the pool being locked at 4.30pm was a let down and when hubby finally went for a swim the pool floor was covered in black mould!!! Sadly we would not recommend this caravan park to anyone!!!

3 months agoI tried to find opening hours on the website and wasn't successful. One booking website suggested they take check-ins to 8pm, but just on 7 they were closed. Need a big note on the door if this is unusual, or even something with the real hours clearly somewhere so I wouldn't have tried and been disappointed, I actually was after a place to park the car, sleep inside and have a shower in the morning. Easy money. I found a freebie shower further south.

a month agoThe shower leaked and flooded The bathroom within seconds. It flooded into the kitchen. Had to use our dirty laundry of ours to soak it up alongside all the towels that were in the room. Called after hours for more towels to soak it up. Could not shower 2/3 nights we stayed. After hours staff member was rude, tried to explain it was night time and our kids were in bed. We were desperate for a shower and wanted to try be quick but it wasn't worth it. Within seconds it flooded that bathroom into the cabin. They acted like they weren't aware but behind the door and on the edge of the wall is an water damage and breaking away. They've siliconed it in hopes to figure out a cause. Extending on this. The Wall in the main bedroom on the right down the bottom in the middle of you push on it. It actually is damaged from water and is coming away from the architraves and is perishing. The bathroom was really disgusting. The toilet was dirty and had poo marks on the bowl and the seat was still had marks all over it. I purchased some cleaner from Coles as no way would my kids or ourselves just use that. Dust all over the architraves and public hair throughout the bathroom. Walls were disgustingly stained with splat marks all over it. Bugs in the kettle, and moths in one of the one of our kids room. Ended up borrowing a cot from a friend who resides in Townsville to be safe. The bed base is supported by cardboard! Avoid cabin 33. Though the neighbour said the bathroom/ cabin was pretty bad too! Would go back for the amenities, outside the cabin is beautiful and clean. Bathrooms at the pool area are spotless, the pool area is beautiful, pool is very well maintained- staff are there throughout the day, jumping pillow was a hit along with the park area. I can't respond to your reply for some reason but here is a screen shot of declining your offer to upgrade as we wanted the cabin we booked.

4 months agoA colleague and I rolled in for 5 nights, each having a cabin. We were tired from working a 12-hour day but attempted to settle in and get some rest for the early start the following morning. Unfortunately, in my unit, the TV wasn't working, nor was the AC in the bedroom. As a result, I reached reception after hours and was a fellow (first week on the job) turned up fairly promptly and was unable to fix the issues. He was able to move me a short time later to the cabin next door, making sure the AC and TV were functioning. This fellow was very apologetic and polite at all times. I feel the accommodation is needing some TLC to bring it back to life. The vanity globe was also missing. The hand rail leading up to stairs quite fragile. Needs more maintenance and a freshen up!
