Barwon River Holiday Park

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Barwon River Holiday Park, and I feel compelled to share my concerns. From the moment we arrived, the staff were shockingly rude and unprofessional. Simple inquiries were met with hostility, and it was clear that customer service was not a priority for them. The state of the accommodation was appalling. The rooms were far from clean, with visible dirt, unpleasant odors, and poorly maintained facilities. For the price we paid, I expected at least basic hygiene standards, but these were completely lacking. It was clear that cleanliness and upkeep were not a priority at this property. The most troubling aspect of our stay was the outright discriminatory behaviour we witnessed. It was shocking and deeply upsetting to see such behavior in what should be a welcoming environment. Racism has no place in any establishment, especially one that serves a diverse range of guests. This left an extremely sour taste and made it impossible to feel comfortable during our stay. Overall, this was one of the worst holiday experiences I’ve ever had. Between the rude staff, unsanitary conditions, and discriminatory behavior, I cannot recommend Barwon River Holiday Park to anyone. I strongly urge others to consider alternative options if they want a respectful, clean, and enjoyable stay.

I had high hopes for this place, but it was a complete letdown. The photos were misleading; the place different than advertised. The cleanliness was subpar, with cobwebs in the corners and a strange smell throughout. The so-called ‘fully equipped kitchen’ had barely any utensils. Worst of all, the bathroom was not even clean! To make matters worse, the facilities were a joke. The pool and other amenities were closed by 8 PM, which wasn’t mentioned anywhere beforehand. Isn’t part of a cabin getaway enjoying the evening? The limited access made the whole experience feel like a rip-off. And when we tried to contact the host about these issues, they were completely unresponsive. They were rude, aggressive and racist!! Definitely not worth the price – I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

We arrived at check in time on an extremely hot and busy time. Lot's of people checking in or looking to stay. I must say the staff were so calm, friendly and wanted to help. It would have been difficult to deal with it all. When we got to our cabin, the aircon was already switched on. Cabin was fine, everything you need. Close proximity to shops. I passed by a couple of the staff, in the grounds, greeted with a smile and a hello mate. Such a comfortable friendly atmosphere. A credit to the management and your team. Thanks for having us.

Unacceptable Cleanliness and I had a terrible experience at this accommodation. The manager’s lack of attention to cleanliness was evident from the moment I arrived. The room was filthy, with dirty linens, dust on every surface, and even stains on the carpet When I brought it to the manager’s attention, they were dismissive and unhelpful, offering no solutions or even an apology. The overall attitude of the manager was unprofessional and showed a lack of concern for guest satisfaction. It’s clear that they have no pride in maintaining the property. I will not be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean and comfortable stay.

I stayed here for 4 night and half a day before leaving i left a day early due to family emergency the park didn't return any money for the day early. The cabins were run down bedding was below average for what we had payed Showers were very small and moldy the door in my cabin shower wouldnt close properly leveaing water all over the floor. On arrival we had 3 towels once used we asked for some fresh towels the asked us to wash and dry them. We asked for fresh linen due to my step daughter being bite by something the night before the park management where reluctant to give us linen but did . We run out of toilet paper in our cabin and when asked for toilet paper at the office we were told to buy our own as they don't supply extra toilet papper. The pool was not cleaned water was very murky and not well maintained. The internet was shocking was dropping in and out and at night was turned off im sure as it would connect without service . I found the staff in office a little rude and kinda pushy. Overall was not a good experience
