a week agoIf I could give negative stars, this campsite would earn every single one. It was an absolute nightmare from start to finish, and I wouldn’t wish the experience on my worst enemy. To start, the campsite was overrun with ants. Not a few ants here and there—an infestation that quickly invaded our tent and ruined any chance of comfort. Our clothes and sleeping bag was crawling with them, and no amount of cleaning or ant spray could keep them at bay. Then there were the toilets. I’ve seen cleaner facilities in abandoned buildings. These were hands-down the most disgusting toilets I’ve ever had the misfortune of encountering. I’ve seen better toilets in some 3rd world countries. Overflowing, foul-smelling, and seemingly untouched by any kind of maintenance/cleaning staff. It was enough to make you sick just stepping near them. The shower facilities weren’t any better. They were grimy and mould-ridden. Calling them “facilities” is generous. They looked more like a health hazard than a place to wash. As if that weren’t enough, the park itself was completely insecure there are no cameras and no lighting in key areas. “Fencing” that anyone could simply walk past. As a result, we were robbed during our stay. Our bag was stolen during the night leaving us feeling unsafe and violated. We reported it, but there was no help or even concern from the management—just a shrug and a “that happens sometimes” attitude. This campsite is a disgrace. If you value your health, safety, or sanity, avoid it at all costs.

in the last weekJust stayed at a powered site for the fourth year straight and was very clear how run down it is. The location is awesome, and it’s ’ok’ to stay here, but could be so much better if they watered the grass, had an no smoking policy that was enforced (a guest was smoking during a conversation with a staff member - manager maybe), increased cleaning (time? Skill? Effort?) and improved facilities (games room needs attention, kids playground is tired and dated, movie night or free pancake morning/sausage sizzle dinner could work well, and there are multiple old buildings boarded up/decommissioned). Rose gardens needs a reason for people to come there - something to hang its hat on, as the location or cost isn’t enough any more. I wouldn’t say I won’t stay here again, but am looking at the other parks, as are our family and friends.

2 weeks agoAvoid This Park at All Costs – The Least Relaxing and Most Stressful Stay If you’re looking for a holiday, do not stay here. This was genuinely the least relaxing and most stressful experience we’ve ever had at a holiday park. Ant Infestation From the moment we arrived, the site was completely infested with ants. Every tree and slab was riddled with them. The small site we were assigned was covered in ant powder, which is toxic to dogs – a major concern as we were traveling with one. By Day 2, ants were everywhere inside our van, including the kids’ bunk beds and walls, despite us not leaving any food out. Our neighbors were also dealing with the same issue and informed us that previous occupants had complained, leaving ant powder everywhere. When we reported this to the office, staff claimed they were unaware of the problem – a laughable statement given the infestation across the park. The staff’s solution was dismissive at best. When we requested ant spray, we were met with attitude and told they couldn’t spray because of our dog. While they begrudgingly gave us one can, it was insufficient, forcing us to purchase additional bait and spray ourselves. Despite our efforts, every morning we woke to ants throughout the van. Lack of Maintenance and Cleanliness The site appeared neglected, with no evidence of maintenance between visitors. Bathrooms were filthy even after being “cleaned,” with a single hand sanitizer dispenser for the block – often empty. The dump point was out of action, and instead of offering a solution or apology, the park sent out a curt message: “Dump point is out of action, please stop messaging us.” Security Issues The park has zero security. While guests are given swipe cards for vehicle access, an open drive with a chain down allows anyone to enter freely. There’s no fencing, CCTV, or adequate lighting to deter trespassers. During our stay, our family was robbed, and when reported to the office, staff showed no concern or willingness to assist, stating we needed to file the police report ourselves. They also admitted to being approached by other guests who had been robbed. We never felt safe or secure during our stay. Poor Facilities and Dangerous Hazards The activity room was filthy, with no balls for games and mold in the washing machines. A protruding screw on a door injured our daughter, and when we reported it to the front desk, no action was taken to fix the hazard. It wasn’t until we mistakenly emailed the wrong park that someone followed up on the issue for us. Final Thoughts The only positive aspect of this park is its proximity to Emu Point. However, when compared to the well-maintained neighboring chalets and lawns, it’s clear the filthy, ant-infested conditions here are due to neglect, not location. This park is managed by staff who deny problems and blame their customers, ensuring nothing will ever improve. We chose this park because of its affiliation with G’Day Parks, expecting a trusted experience, but we were sorely mistaken. We’ve been camping for 10 years across South and Western Australia, and this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. Save yourself the stress and choose a different park.

a week agoOur stay at Rose gardens was an absolute nightmare. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this site was poorly maintained and far from welcoming. Here’s why I strongly recommend avoiding this park: 1. ANTS EVERYWHERE! The grounds were teeming with ants. They invaded our caravan, made their way into our food, and were impossible to get rid of. It was a constant battle and completely ruined our stay. 2. Gross Facilities: The amenities were filthy and clearly not cleaned regularly enough for the number of campers. There were two toilet blocks; the first which was fairly modern, had code entry to access yet seems to have been vandalised with paint stripper. The other one was not locked, I assume this is because no homeless person would ever think of using such a disgusting shower block. No soap, blocked toilet every day, absolutely filthy. The laundry area was no better, once I had found it amount the multiple derelict buildings that exist on the site. During our stay we were told not to use the dump point as it was blocked, but we’re not given any advice as to an alternative. 3. Poor Security: There was absolutely no sense of safety here. No gates, no fence and no cameras. Unfortunately, during our stay, a bag was stolen from our site, and the park management advised us to contact the police, not their fault I know but I am really surprised that G’day parks don’t at least record incidents when they happen. This lack of security following the theft made us feel incredibly vulnerable. This was, without a doubt, the worst caravan site we have ever stayed at. The location is fantastic and with some new investment and some TLC could be a great park. But until that happens save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere. At the moment this place doesn’t even deserve one star.

Dirty bathroom and laundry facilities 🤢 huge ant infestation throughout park affecting multiple tents and caravans (including ours), unkempt games room, blocked dump point, multiple thefts. across park, park owner / manager COULD NOT care less! Shame on you G'day /acclaim parks for putting your name to this place. Definitely would NOT recommend or will ever go back
