2 months agoHere is my favorite place in Sydney, like my home in Australia, without here, I’ll not love this city and stay for a long time. All the staffs and receptionists are all lovely, helpful and welcoming, especially Maria!! Everyday I get warmly greeting and smile which makes me a good day go to work and a good night go to bed. I really like the people here, they are all like my family. With a big big park right in front of this house, I have a very healthy workout routine here. Beside, I love the big glass house kitchen, very natural, and amazing kitchen. Sometimes, few pigeons and cutes animals come to walk around you when you are cooking, I feel like living in the wild, very enjoy it. And here, we sharing food and talking with people from everywhere. And I met my life partner under the Blue Jacaranda tree, I’m happy she is emerald green and grows up well now; in the October, there will be full of small purple flowers. Bed is comfortable and facilities are all good, near Redfern and central station, so is convenient to everywhere. I’m sure you will have a good rest here no matter where are you from.

5 months agoI have never seen such a disgusting hostel in my entire life. Weeks without cleaning in the rooms, the trash emptied once a week. I even found a dead mouse next to our room. The last time, one of the cleaning ladies asked me to give 5 stars after cleaning; I refused, explaining that the room was not cleaned daily, and since then, no one has come to clean the room. In short, simply AVOID it !!!

2 months agoI booked a double ensuite room for my boyfriend and I, but was instead given a room with twin beds. When I called reception to tell them that the room was incorrect, I was told that the double ensuite rooms were all booked out. They acknowledged that I had been given the incorrect room due to a systems error, but refused to offer a partial refund. Any decent place would recognise that an error on their end that negatively impacts the quality of a guest's stay should be compensated. But nothing. The Village is admittedly very cheap, but I would caution anyone against staying here.

7 months agoWe stayed for 2 nights +the staff was really friendly. Especially Melodie helped us with everything we needed +central location -dirty rooms, lavatories and kitchen -no bed curtains -The other guests seemed dissatisfied and introverted. This may have been due to the general state of the hostel Overall: okay to spend a night for a stopover

4 months agoEverything you could be waiting after on a hostel is there. Perfect location, public transports and train station nearby, clean rooms, nice kitchen and a lovely backyard to chill. +1 for the game room! +10 for Mélodie the receptionist, she gave me a lot of good advice about what to do in Sydney during my stay. I’ll be back !
