3 weeks agoWe stayed for two nights in a cabin. It was clean and the decor and facilities were very up to date. We throughly enjoyed our stay as we could take our dog and didn’t have to worry as the cabin had a secure fence….so no escapes!! The park was quiet and peaceful with some lovely views of the countryside…..I would highly recommend it!

6 months agoMy friends and I stayed in one of the new 2-bedroom family cabins on a recent mountain biking trip. The new cabins are fantastic - clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water for a shower after a long day on the trails. They’ve put a load of work into upgrading the amenities in the park recently which made for a great stay. The management team were incredibly friendly and made us feel super welcome. We will certainly be back!

5 months agoThis place is a hidden gem! We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom family cabins. It was so comfortable and had everything we needed. Cathy the manager was lovely and so accomodating. (As was little nissan) The location was great, with the pub right over the road and close to all the things we wanted to see. We will definitely be back.

6 months agoI had a powered site with water tap. Stayed 3 nights over Anzac weekend, so I was expecting it to be full with Great Ocean road long distance cycling event viewers or friends of cyclists. The cycling event passed smoothly through Forrest with no consequences for this lovely campground which now also has a number of brand new cabins. The brand new camp kitchen sports 2 fridges, 2 ovens, 2 large sinks, array of usable crockery, cutlery, cookware. And heating/cooling conditioner. Had some great chats in the camp kitchen, which has good variety of fresh herbs growing around it free. The laundry has brand new Miele front load washer and [dryer($1/min)]. I love the idea that there are virtually no street lights and the night is actually dark the way nature intended. So torches needed. I hope that doesn’t change. There are fire pits you can hire or byo, and firewood was $25/20kg bag.✅ There’s recycling bins. Showers are continuous hot at no extra cost. All amenities were in lovely clean state. The kookaburras laughed in the distance at early a.m.. It’s only 700 metres from the General store. And the local Opshop was open on Saturday! The country walks are divine, Stevensons Falls is very easy to walk these days even if you need a walker/rollator. And Forrest is the place to be for the freshest air ever. I came home all rosy cheeked. Oxygen sats 100%.Big thank you to the lovely helpful staff.

9 months agoIt breaks my heart to have to write this review, but I feel as though it is needed. Our group of friends have been coming to Forrest to camp for many years now, some have come every year since they were kids themselves. We love the town itself and think it’s the perfect place for a getaway for the long weekend. The caravan park is now under new management, and although they have updated some of the amenities the service particularly from the manger Cathy is absolutely appalling. We understand that the park is a family friendly park, as some of our friends came with their 8 month old baby themselves. And we respected the park rules of keeping the noise to a minimum from 10pm onwards. We turned our music down, and were chatting amongst ourselves around the fire. Cathy came to our campsite and proceeded to clap in our faces and yell at us stating “BED NOW”, as though we were children. The way Cathy spoke to us was nothing short of disrespectful and degrogitory. She then said that she had been having complaints from other campsites and the people who lived across the road regarding us being too noisy. When interacting with the neighbouring campsites, they reassured us and said that our noise levels weren’t an issue and they could barely hear us. We also had one of the residents who lived across the road come and hang out with us over some wines and wholesome conversations, so it was extremely disappointing to learn that the noise complaints weren’t true. It saddens me that we will no longer be coming to Forrest ever again, and that our yearly tradition of camping here in the summer time is forever tainted by new rude management. You guys have lost 15- 20 loyal customers and now our kids will never get to share the same memories of us growing up in this beautiful park. I’m also even more disappointed that the small businesses such as the pub and brewery that we love to support each year on our trip will lose our business at the fault of Cathy’s behaviour.
