Discovery Parks Lake Hume New South Wales

We stayed here on the 4 Sep 2024 and asked for a drive through site if possible. We were given two sites, 56 and 57 which are right on the waters edge but a fair way from the amenities. The sites were not flat so we had to unhook anyway, but the view was sensational so all was good. The camp was not busy and there appeared to be a number of other flatter sites available. At 12:30 in the morning, two campervans turned up with a large number of people in them. They stopped at sites 54 and 55, right behind us so their light shone directly into our van. They then proceeded to set up camp and cook a meal. We were a bit concerned as the boom gate was not working so we could not tell whether these were just random back packers or actual park guests. At 3:30am I rang the after hours number to complain. Whether someone eventually turned up I do not know but they went quiet at around 4am. We complained when we left that morning and were told that guests should not be arriving after 12 at night but as the boom gate was not working they could not prevent this. Even so it makes little difference if they arrive at 12 or 12:30 if they stay up for 3 hours. If nothing is going to be done during the night at least they should be made to move on first thing in the morning. I have attached a photo of their camp in the morning. Looks like more than 8 people were sitting around having a good time whilst keeping everyone else awake.

We managed to shift to a prime spot on the lake edge which was far better than the nominated site. Recommend you have a look at the site to assess suitability first up. Main amenities appear good however the men’s was under repair for the 6 days we were there. The second amenities next to the car park the foot of the hill was feral as I suspect non park people abuse it. Location is great and not too far to drive to Albury or Wodonga. Lake is just beautiful.

A well equipped cabin, with everything needed for an easy stay. It is a great quiet location with a beautiful view. Only downside is the double bed was ridiculously soft and the pillows were like rocks. Overall a simple contactless check-in and check out procedure and I would stay again, with my own pillow! Thanks!

We loved our stay at Lake Hume. We wished we didn't have to leave. The camp kitchen was clean and well appointed. We could see that the management is planting herb and other plants near the kitchen. The bathrooms & toilets were very clean. The view was breathtaking. Michael was very helpful, who came to our site to help us after office hours when we needed help with the motorhome. Will be back for a longer stay!

Excellent, quiet and peaceful. Great views of the Weir. Great size cabins depending on the amount of people. Clean and tidy with full TV functions. Highly recommend.
